No, it's not really marzipan, but the white flesh of this nectarine reminds me of just that. In Hoogvliet in Holland there used to be a bakery shop that specialised in marzipan in all shapes. They'd change their window display regularly, sometimes the window looked like a greengrocers, with all kinds of fruit and veg made from marzipan. Other times it was done like a butcher's shop window and you could buy sausages and slices of meat and eggs - all marzipan. It looked amazing and tasted even better.
