bike lane
Had a lovely bike ride along the seafront this evening. Luckily you can cycle all along the promenade now in Worthing. They used to have a cycle lane and then took it away and then changed it so you can cycle anywhere (apart from this bit where there's still a lane). Glad they finally made up their minds.

birthday cake
Liam insisted I make his cake this year but was very clear on what he wanted. So after a very late finish at work I started on the baking at 10pm. I was just about to put the tins in the oven and realised I hadn't used any butter. Out the tins it came to have the butter stirred in. Well they came out better than I expected, maybe that's a new method to be followed.

west end
Well, who knew that Worthing has a West End. We now live just on the edge of it in Heene district. Back in the early 19th century settlement was in Heene village and in an area known as Little Heene. The area apparently had a reputation for wildness and lawlessness and the Commissioners in the new town of Worthing to the east erected a wall at the Heene-Worthing boundary to keep the 'lawless' of Heene out of the civilised east. We'll try to keep up the tradition of wildness.

comic book store
Liam tends to show us the other side of every city we visit by dragging us around to the comic book stores. This is Norma's.

Casa Batllo
I love the windows at Casa Batllo; inside the the doors, handles and ceilings are curved. Beautiful.
